I still plan on having children. Should I do a mommy makeover now or wait until afterwards?

Close-up of a blond little girl kissing her motherIn many cases, a mommy makeover makes sense even if you haven’t finished having children.

The mommy makeover I offer patients combines body contouring and breast enhancement procedures. These address the effects of pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding, and the results of many procedures won’t be impacted by having more children.

For example, Dallas mommy makeover patients may benefit from a breast augmentation combined with liposuction. The augmentation returns fullness and lift to the breasts, restoring them to a younger, more attractive state. The liposuction targets stubborn fatty deposits and provides a slimmer, more contoured figure. Dallas patients can typically have these procedures and then have more children without affecting the results.

There are certain situations in which it may be better to wait for a mommy makeover until after you are done having children. One exception is if your procedures will include tummy tuck (abdominoplasty). Tummy tuck removes abdominal fat and loose skin, both common after pregnancy. However, pregnancy might produce enough stretching that we would have to repeat the procedure.

Another exception is imminent pregnancy. If you are actively trying to get pregnant or you are pregnant currently, it makes more sense to wait in order to get the most benefits from a mommy makeover.

Outside of these circumstances, though, you may be an excellent candidate for the procedure. An initial consultation with our practice will help you understand the options available for rejuvenating your appearance.
