Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Schwartz wants to help Dallas, TX women feel more comfortable and attractive with vaginal rejuvenation surgery to normalize the size and shape of the labia. The labia (external lips of the vaginal area) may be stretched or have loose skin due to genetics, natural aging, pregnancy, childbirth, or a physical trauma. A labiaplasty is a surgery that reduces the size of the labia minora and/or majora for a more normal appearance. This could diminish discomfort and irritation while increasing confidence and sexual pleasure. Schedule a consultation at Robert Schwartz Plastic Surgery in Dallas, TX to learn more about the benefits and to find out if you are a candidate for vaginal rejuvenation surgery.
A labiaplasty at Robert Schwartz Plastic Surgery may be helpful for Dallas, TX women who are self-conscious about the shape and size of their labia, which may be abnormal due to genetics, childbirth, or trauma. Abnormal vaginal lips may cause pain, discomfort, itching, or irritation during physical activities like exercise and sex. A labiaplasty may also help if you avoid wearing certain clothing (like swimsuits, leggings, or yoga pants) because of the size of your labia. While a labiaplasty should not affect your ability to get pregnant or have a natural childbirth, Dr. Schwartz recommends you wait until you are done having children to avoid altering your results.

"Dr. Schwartz is a very skilled surgeon who always puts your wants and concerns first. Him and his team make up a very comforting environment when you visit their office. They always greet me by name and ask how I have been. They make sure all my questions are answered with as much information as they can give me. Even when I had a concern right before surgery, the doctor sat down and went over photos with me again to make sure he had the best understanding as to what I was looking for. He made it happen and my results are amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. I highly recommend this doctor."- A.W. / Google / Aug 07, 2018

Most labiaplasty procedures are performed in our office under local anesthesia, so you can drive yourself to and from your appointment. If the procedure is more extensive, you may require general anesthesia at an accredited facility, which will mean you need a responsible adult to pick you up after your surgery. Dr. Schwartz will discuss these options and time estimates during your consultation so you can make any arrangements before your procedure. A labiaplasty is most often performed with a trimming technique that removes excess tissue and then sutures the remaining tissue together. Another technique is the wedge procedure that removes a pie-shaped piece of tissue and extra folds from the clitoral hood before suturing the remaining tissue closed.
What to Expect
Most patients need about a week to recover from swelling and discomfort after their labiaplasty before returning to work and normal activities. Dr. Schwartz recommends you apply ice packs or cold compresses to the vaginal area as needed to reduce swelling. You are not allowed to use tampons or have sexual activity for 4 – 6 weeks after your surgery. Patients usually see visible improvements in about six weeks with final results around six months after surgery. The results of labiaplasty are long lasting, but weight fluctuations, natural aging, and childbirth may alter results.
